Engineering Excellence Meets Industrial Automation at Kingfield Galvanizing’s New Home
We are proud to have delivered a state-of-the-art facility for Kingfield Galvanizing in Somerton, an industrial warehouse purpose-built to accommodate one of Australia’s most advanced automated galvanizing operations.
This 7,300m² facility, located on a 14,700m² site, is the result of close collaboration, precise engineering, and a deep understanding of complex industrial processes. Purpose-built to support a high-capacity, heavy-lift galvanizing plant, the project includes a 6,800m² warehouse and a 500m² office, all tailored to meet the rigorous demands of automated steel processing.

Heavy-Lift Innovation: A State-of-the-Art Galvanizing Hub Delivered by Corplex
A standout feature of the facility is its integration of nine overhead travelling cranes and a sophisticated monorail system, designed to move large steel components through the galvanizing process with remarkable accuracy and efficiency. The monorail includes strategically placed turntables for lateral movement, with tolerances calibrated to within 12mm vertically and 15mm horizontally, a testament to the precise standards achieved throughout the build.
Externally, the development includes 7,600m² of carpark and hardstand area, with 89 on-site car spaces. The 6,400m² hardstand was engineered for high-load capacity, facilitating seamless heavy vehicle access, efficient logistics, and external storage. The site layout was carefully designed to optimise staging areas for both raw and treated materials, ensuring a smooth operational flow from delivery to dispatch.

Supporting operations is a modern 500m² office space, providing a functional and comfortable environment for management and support staff. This includes open-plan work areas, meeting rooms, and amenities, ensuring strong integration between the administrative and production sides of the business.
Delivering a technically complex facility of this scale in Somerton required disciplined project management, close coordination with specialist contractors, and a detailed approach to industrial automation requirements.
