HEAD OFFICE

Built to Carry the Load: A Heavy-Duty Hub for Ausco Truck Bodies

We’re proud to have delivered this purpose-built facility for Ausco Truck Bodies in Derrimut, a project that sets a new benchmark for industrial functionality, precision engineering and business-focused design. Located on a generous 4,800m² site, the development integrates a heavy-duty 2,000m² warehouse with an attached two-storey, 300m² office, bringing the total building area to 2,300m² and providing Ausco with a highly efficient operational base.

At the heart of the facility is the expansive workshop, purpose-built to support Ausco’s core operations in heavy vehicle body manufacturing, fit-out and servicing. With an impressive 10-metre overall height, the building comfortably accommodates large vehicles, specialist equipment and complex fabrication processes, allowing multiple work streams to operate simultaneously. This increased vertical and horizontal capacity directly improves workflow efficiency, reduces handling time and enables greater production flexibility as project demands change.

Crafting Strength: A Purpose-Built Space for Heavy Industry

A key feature of the warehouse is the dedicated crane zone, engineered to safely and efficiently lift heavy vehicle components and assemblies. This capability significantly streamlines manufacturing and servicing operations, minimising manual handling, reducing downtime and improving safety outcomes for staff. Reinforced concrete foundations and robust structural steelwork were designed specifically to withstand the high load requirements of crane operations, ensuring long-term durability and reliability for Ausco’s growing workload.

The adjoining two-storey office provides a professional and functional environment for administration, design, engineering and management teams. Positioned to maintain strong visual and operational connection to the workshop, the office supports faster decision-making, improved communication and tighter integration between production and planning. Natural light, modern finishes and an efficient layout create a comfortable workspace that supports staff productivity and reflects Ausco’s commitment to quality and professionalism.

Power and Precision: Corplex Drives Ausco’s Next Chapter

From a business perspective, the facility has been designed to help Ausco operate smarter, faster and at greater scale. Improved site access and internal circulation support smoother vehicle movements and deliveries, while the purpose-built layout allows Ausco to take on larger projects, expand service offerings and respond more efficiently to client timelines. The building also provides the flexibility to adapt as the business evolves, protecting Ausco’s investment well into the future.

From concept to completion, Corplex worked in close partnership with Ausco Truck Bodies to ensure every element of the facility aligned with their operational model and long-term growth strategy. This collaborative approach allowed us to tailor structure, services, access and workflow to suit the realities of heavy vehicle manufacturing.

It’s been a rewarding experience bringing this highly specialised facility to life. We’re confident that Ausco’s new Derrimut headquarters will strengthen their operational capabilities, support business growth and position them for continued success in the competitive transport manufacturing sector.
