Corplex is proud to announce the commencement of construction on a transformative new industrial facility for client Berton Investments, purpose-built to support Coates, Australia’s leading equipment hire and solutions provider. With a nationwide presence across construction, infrastructure, mining and industrial sectors, Coates is a trusted name in reliability, safety and scale. This development represents the next chapter in their operational journey; a high-performance hub designed to enhance efficiency, support their people and elevate service delivery for customers.
Set on a substantial 80,700m² site, the facility has been carefully planned around two distinct buildings and extensive external areas to reflect the breadth of Coates’ operations. From the outset, Corplex has worked closely with Berton Investments and Coates to ensure every square metre supports practical outcomes, from equipment circulation and maintenance to customer interaction and staff amenities. Together, the buildings deliver a total area of 11,400m², each configured to balance efficiency, safety and service excellence.

At the centre of the site, two modern two-storey offices totalling 1,200m² will provide an engaging and functional environment for Coates’ growing team. Open-plan workspaces, collaborative meeting zones, training facilities and customer-facing areas are designed to foster connection, development and operational excellence.
The workshops, spanning 7,700m², form the operational heart of the facility. These expansive, robust spaces are purpose-built for the servicing and maintenance of Coates’ extensive fleet, with generous clearances, wide access points and reinforced flooring to safely manage large-scale plant and equipment. Supporting this is a dedicated 1,400m² wash bay, engineered to streamline vehicle and machinery turnaround while incorporating environmental initiatives such as water capture, recycling and responsible chemical management.

To enable continuous operations in all conditions, a 2,600m² canopy will provide critical all-weather coverage for loading, inspections and staging, safeguarding both equipment and personnel. Surrounding this, 53,500m² of heavy-duty hardstand will accommodate equipment storage, circulation, parking and loading, designed to withstand significant loads while allowing flexibility for future expansion.
