Precision-Built Food Facility: Corplex Expands Ezy Chef’s Manufacturing Capability

It was a pleasure to continue our partnership with the team at Ezy Chef, delivering a high-spec 2,000m² warehouse and process room extension that supports their growing operations in food manufacturing and distribution.

Ezy Chef is an Australian-owned business specialising in the preparation and supply of ready-made meals and high-quality food products for the retail, hospitality and healthcare sectors. Known for their commitment to freshness, safety and efficiency, Ezy Chef’s operations demand facilities that meet the highest standards of food-grade compliance and hygiene.

Building on the success of our previous collaboration, Corplex worked closely with the client to ensure the new facility was designed and constructed to meet strict hygiene, safety and operational standards required in a modern food manufacturing environment.

Ezy Chef’s State-of-the-Art Facility Complete.

The extension features a fully enclosed production area constructed with a sandwich panel ceiling system, providing superior thermal insulation and smooth, easy-clean surfaces essential for maintaining stringent hygiene controls. Within the production area, we installed a durable 6mm thick epoxy flooring system, chosen for its slip resistance, chemical resistance and seamless finish, critical for ensuring both safety and sanitation.

A standout feature of the facility is the integration of a commercial-grade freezer room, designed to maintain a consistent -18°C, enabling Ezy Chef to safely store and manage temperature-sensitive ingredients and finished goods. This required precise coordination of mechanical, insulation and vapour sealing systems to achieve optimal performance and energy efficiency.

To further enhance quality assurance, a purpose-built 25m² laboratory has been incorporated into the design, allowing the Ezy Chef team to conduct in-house product testing and maintain strict control over food quality standards.

Delivering Hygiene and Efficiency.

To streamline logistics and protect temperature integrity during handling, we also constructed an air-sealed loading dock, fitted with an insulated sectional door and dock leveller, reducing thermal loss and preventing contamination during loading and unloading.

This project involved complex coordination between structural, refrigeration, flooring and food-grade compliance disciplines, executed to deliver a facility that exceeds regulatory requirements and operational expectations.

The completed extension represents another step forward for Ezy Chef, increasing production capacity, improving workflow efficiency, and strengthening their ability to meet growing demand for quality, ready-made meals.
