A Warehouse That Gives Back: New Foodbank Facility Boosts Distribution Capacity

Corplex is proud to deliver Building A, a key component of Stage 2 in our ongoing collaboration with KH Cherry Investments at their landmark Kororoit Creek Road industrial development. Part of a 96,400-square-metre masterplanned precinct reshaping Melbourne’s western industrial corridor, this new facility has been purpose-built to support Foodbank, Australia’s largest food relief organisation.

Foodbank provides essential food and groceries to charities, schools and community groups across the country, playing a critical role in supporting Australians facing food insecurity. Their new facility within Building A has been designed to strengthen this mission, giving them the space and infrastructure to store, sort and distribute greater volumes of food more efficiently than ever before.

Stage 2 Milestone: Corplex Supports Foodbank with Purpose-Built Industrial Facility

Spanning a total building area of 12,100 square metres, Building A combines a 10,100-square-metre warehouse, an 800-square-metre office, and a 1,250-square-metre canopy designed to streamline loading, dispatch and vehicle movement. The warehouse has been carefully organised into specialised zones to support Foodbank’s operations. The ambient warehouse zone provides expansive storage for dry goods, allowing for easy access and efficient movement of products. The repack area enables bulk deliveries to be broken down into smaller, customer-ready packs, with workstations and equipment supporting staff and volunteers to sort, label and prepare orders seamlessly, while the chiller area offers temperature-controlled storage for perishable items, ensuring food remains fresh and safe and enabling Foodbank to respond quickly to demand.

The facility’s layout prioritises operational flow, easy access for heavy vehicles, and modern administrative spaces for Foodbank’s staff and volunteers. For Foodbank, this new home is more than just a warehouse; it’s a critical enabler of their life-changing work. With increased capacity, improved workflow and dedicated office space, the facility empowers Foodbank to serve more communities, respond faster in times of crisis, and continue expanding their programs well into the future.
