At Corplex, some of our most rewarding projects are built on long-standing relationships, and our latest delivery for Vawdrey in Dandenong South is a strong example of that trust in action.
Located in Dandenong South, this project involved the delivery of a series of targeted extensions and upgrades to this 11,800m² site designed to support Vawdrey’s continued growth and operational efficiency. Having previously delivered Vawdrey’s headquarters in Larapinta, Queensland, this development represents a repeat partnership built on performance, familiarity and confidence in delivery.
Vawdrey is a nationally recognised leader in the design, manufacture and servicing of heavy-duty transport equipment, supplying high-performance trailer solutions to major transport and logistics operators across Australia. Powering Growth Through Purpose-Built Industrial Infrastructure
The works included the construction of a new purpose-built workshop of approximately 1,300m² and major upgrades to the existing workshop, seamlessly integrated with the existing facility. Built using durable concrete panel walls and zincalume roofing, the extension delivers long-term performance while accommodating specialised operational needs. Internally, the workshop was enhanced with a new service pit, a chassis crush and additional three-phase power outlets to support heavy machinery and servicing equipment.
A key component of the upgrade was the delivery of multiple new canopies totalling 600m², including a canopy extension to the existing building and additional canopy structures to the new workshop. These provide all-weather protection for servicing, loading and vehicle movements, improving safety, efficiency and day-to-day productivity across the site.
Operational flexibility was further enhanced through the installation of 12 new roller doors, including two double-bay doors designed to accommodate spray booth operations. Early works also included detailed surveying of an existing gantry crane to facilitate its repurposing within the upgraded facility, ensuring continuity of operations while maximising the value of existing assets.
Another Strong Delivery for Vawdrey in Dandenong South
Externally, the project delivered 7,700m² of new concrete hardstand, including 360-degree hardstand circulation, purpose-designed to accommodate heavy vehicles and high-frequency movements. Additional access points were introduced to improve site flow and separation of vehicle and pedestrian movements, supported by expanded parking and upgraded entry arrangements.
New landscaping was incorporated throughout the site to soften the built form, enhance street presentation and improve overall amenity, creating a balanced outcome that combines industrial functionality with a considered external environment.
Delivering another project for Vawdrey reflects the strength of our ongoing relationship and our deep understanding of their operational requirements. We’re proud to once again support their business with infrastructure that performs today, supports complex transport operations and provides flexibility for future growth.
